## Transit and School Infrastructure

Fifteen transit stop points are mapped within Discovery Bay, distributed across Lake Driveway, Parkes, Westney and Clements. These stops provide fixed locations for public transit access within the neighbourhood boundary. The concentration of stops suggests multiple route intersections serve the area directly. This infrastructure supports daily commuting options for residents without requiring private vehicle use.

Lakeside Public School is the single school point attributed to Discovery Bay. The facility also operates as a community centre hosting Preschool Friday Night Fun for children aged 2.5 to 5 years. This dual function extends the school's utility beyond standard academic hours into evening recreational programming. Residents with young children can access structured activities at a mapped local institution. Sources:

## Recreation and Childcare Access

One childcare point named Grandview Kids is mapped within Discovery Bay. One recreation point is also located inside the neighbourhood boundary. These facilities provide direct local services for families with dependent children. The presence of both categories indicates basic support infrastructure for household management needs. No additional childcare or recreation facilities are counted in the direct amenity totals.

The Town of Ajax lists 25 recreation programs across its facilities, including swimming lessons and drop-in youth spaces. Lakeside Public School appears in program listings for preschool activities alongside Audley Recreation Centre. While these programs are city-wide in scope, the school's inclusion links it to broader municipal offerings. Families in Discovery Bay can reference this catalogue when planning weekly schedules for children. Sources:

## City market context

From the Ajax market article, 22 September 2026:

Ajax recorded a Sales to New Listings Ratio of 43.3% alongside 2.9 months of inventory, signaling a relatively active environment for buyers. This balance suggests that while demand remains present, sellers must compete on price and condition to attract offers. Ajax's housing market shows a buyer-favorable balance with a Sales to New Listings Ratio of 43.3% and 2.9 months of inventory, suggesting that sellers face more competition than in tighter markets.
